Exciting Discovery: Alderan Strikes 30m Copper Vein at Utah’s New Year’s Copper Prospect!
Alderaan Resources Ltd (ASX: AL8) recently made a significant discovery of a 30-meter copper mineralised zone at the New Years Copper Prospect, located in the renowned Cactus mining district in Utah, USA. This find further cements Alderaan’s commitment to exploring and developing copper resources, with the company already holding significant exploration rights in both Utah and Arizona.
The discovery of pockets with significant copper mineralisation provides compelling evidence of the continued untapped potential of the Cactus District. The New Years Copper Prospect, which is contained within a larger area containing multiple mineral prospects, has shown signs of a promisingly high copper content in assays completed by Alderaan.
Detailed testing within the 30-meter section in drill hole NYD21-02 revealed substantial levels of copper mineralisation. It was found that the zone contained an average grade of 0.3% copper, with localised higher-grade intervals reading up to 1.1%. This is an encouraging fact for Alderaan, reinforcing the district’s reputation as a robust copper-prospecting environment.
In addition, the drill hole intersected a wider zone with anomalous content of molybdenum, a chemical element widely utilized in alloying steel. Molybdenum often appears in conjunction with copper in porphyry copper deposits, which suggests the existence of a larger mineralized system.
This copper find in the Cactus District is the second mineralised zone intersected by Alderaan’s drilling program. The first mineralised zone was discovered earlier and returned lower copper grades, which places much promise on this latest discovery.
The multi-element analysis conducted by the company also indicated the presence of significant amounts of gold and silver. This somehow suggests that Alderaan’s project has the potential to not just be a single resource project but also a polymetallic prospect, as mining for copper, gold and silver could complement each other.
Alderaan’s efforts to discover these mineralised zones have been meticulous and persistent. The company deployed its advanced geophysical techniques, and detailed field mapping to identify these resource hotspots. These efforts significantly ameliorate the risk profile of the exploration, reducing sector uncertainties and helping investors confidently back Alderaan’s efforts.
However, exploration is only a fraction of the completion process, and these initial results need to be followed up with further confirmation and resource definition drilling. Alderaan has made plans to undertake further drilling, which will focus on expanding the
