Australian Rugby League great Greg Gould has slammed the NRL’s oversight of the game, calling it “woefully inadequate”.
Gould, who played for the Penrith Panthers and the Sydney Roosters during his career, said the NRL had failed to properly manage the game and had not done enough to protect players.
“The NRL has failed to properly manage the game and protect the players,” Gould said. “They have not done enough to ensure the safety of the players and the integrity of the game.”
Gould said the NRL had failed to properly investigate allegations of match-fixing and had not done enough to ensure the game was being played fairly.
