Few cities enjoy a title win more than Newcastle – and their victorious NRLW squad were met with a hearty reception back home on Sunday night.
After a welcoming party awaited the arrival of the team bus – complete with police escort – the players where whisked upstairs where the party could get properly started.
Mille Boyle gave a nod to one of the most-memorable moments in Knights post-game history during celebrations at Wests City, dropping Matty Johns’ iconic line about winning being “better than LEGO” while up on stage with the rest of team, as celebrations continued long into the night.

It was a well-deserved victory for Newcastle who came into the game as clear favourites, and came away with a comfortable win.
After a quick stop at Maccas on the way home – some players still in full kit – it was time to get the party started.
”Every day, all we wanted to do was make our community and club proud,” coach Ronald Griffiths told the Newcastle Herald.
“We don’t lose sight of that.
“It wasn’t lost on them today – the importance of what we did.”
Watching on from the sidelines but taking part in the celebrations was co-captain Hannah Southwell, who suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of the season.
“I have never, ever, ever had this before,” she said.
“I’ve been a part of one other premiership before and experienced other wins, but I’ve never experienced anything like this.
“For the club to put this on, and to see so many fans come here and support the girls, is unreal.”
